Our wire cutting technology is applicable to various materials, including common metals, special hard alloys, high-speed steel, as well as plastics, rubber, ceramics, and composite materials.
The core principle is as follows:
1. 'Knife' refers to fine metal wire: Using metal wires with diameters of 0.1-0.3mm, such as molybdenum or copper wire, as the 'cutting knife', the wire does not directly touch the workpiece.
2. Cutting by electric spark: A high voltage is applied between the metal wire and the workpiece, generating tiny electric sparks that gradually erode the surface of the workpiece.
3. Computer-controlled movement: The computer controls the precise movement of the metal wire and the workpiece according to the drawing program, similar to using a wire saw to cut along a pre-drawn line, ultimately cutting out the desired shape.
Wire cutting is akin to a 'precision electric wire saw', not using an actual knife to cut but relying on electric sparks to burn, specializing in intricate, tough, and complex tasks that conventional machine tools cannot handle. It is a commonly used method for manufacturing precision and irregular-shaped parts.
