tubes are normally light expanded to the carbon steel or stainless steel tube
sheet, the tube ends are welded to the zirconium liner or explosive clad tube
sheet.
Zirconium provides resistance to chemical solutions even at elevated
temperatures and pressures. It resists corrosive attack in most organic and
mineral acids, strong alkalis and some molten salts. Zirconium's corrosion
resistance is due to the natural formation of a stable oxide film on the metal
surface.
