In industrial fluid control, the sealing performance of a ball valve largely depends on a component that looks simple but is absolutely critical — the valve ball. As the core sealing part of a ball valve, the roundness, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy of the valve ball directly affect the leakage grade and service life of the entire valve.
Our factory is located in Yuhuan, Zhejiang, a well-known valve manufacturing hub in China. Today I would like to share some insights about our stainless steel valve balls and their practical characteristics in real applications.
I. Material Selection
Stainless steel valve balls are an important part of our product line. Compared with brass and zinc alloy valve balls, stainless steel offers clear advantages in corrosion resistance. This makes it particularly suitable for chemical media, seawater environments, food-grade pipelines, and fluid systems with high cleanliness requirements.
We currently produce stainless steel valve balls mainly in 304 stainless steel, which can meet the requirements of most corrosive working conditions. Customization is also available based on customer drawings if special requirements exist.
II. How Machining Precision Is Ensured
Valve ball machining may look simple, but the precision requirements are actually quite high. The roundness of the sphere, surface roughness, and dimensional tolerance of the bore all affect the sealing performance of the valve during opening and closing.
We use CNC lathes for precision turning to ensure roundness and dimensional consistency. After turning, the balls go through a polishing process to further reduce surface roughness, lower the operating torque of the valve, and improve the fit of the sealing surface.
As shown in the image, this batch of stainless steel valve balls has a high surface finish with a uniform metallic luster, which is the result of polishing.
III. Multi-Size and Customization Capability
Our stainless steel valve balls cover standard sizes and also support non-standard customization. Customers can provide drawings or samples, and we will adjust the bore size, slotting method, or surface treatment according to specific requirements.
For customers who need laser marking for brand identification, we can also support that.

Our factory was established in 2004 and mainly produces brass valve balls, stainless steel valve balls, zinc alloy valve balls, and various valve components. The workshop is equipped with CNC lathes, automatic lathes, polishing equipment, and inspection devices, with an annual output of approximately 5 million valve balls.
